VPS

why we need VPS

Finally if you decided to Migrate from Shared Hosting to VPS, then the next step is the BUDGET Control because before migrating you must keep in mind that is it possible that you can invest a small amount. Once BUDGET is finalized then the next step is to find VPS service Providers like [ Linode, Super-VM, Burstnet ] etc and then OS [ Operating System ] like Linux [ REDHAT, MANDRAKE]. Once you finalized about your VPS Provider then big thing is what type of VPS Package you need is it MANAGED VPS PACKAGE or UNMANAGED VPS PACKAGE and then comes the requirements which is all about what type of OS, RAM, HDD and how much BANDWIDTH you need.

UNMANAGED VPS are ment for those who have technical Knowledge on Setting up the VPS, Operating VIRTUAL WEB SERVER and must be technically good in managing WEB Hosting Packages, unmanaged vps is best in terms of privacy and security. But one thing for freshers UNMANAGED VPS is only meant for tech people why because if any issue occur then they only must deal with it even if is software or hardware issue or server side issue.

So for freshers better to have MANAGED VPS Servers with the help of a VPS experts or with the help of VPS providers, this option is good for the people who don’t want to take care of Server Maintenance and want good performance with fast output with hassle free issues. MANAGED VPS sounds good but its little bit more cost then UNMANAGED due to server management, maintenance and Server configuration work.

So the main steps involved while Migrating to VPS , if you are freshers careful of your DATA, So please take a backup of DATA FIRST..

Migrate to VPS by taking BACKUP of your WORDPRESS from Shared Hosting. [ Everything including themes, database, emails ].

Once backup taken , change the Name Server of your domain to VPS provided name server.

Migrate all the data to VPS server, once domain pointed then all is done .

Migrating to VPS is easy if you have CPANEL and WHM installed in it else you need a TECH GUY who knew VPS better. So for Managed VPS users better to HIRE VPS Person who is good in it.

So if you find that your WORDPRESS got HACKED ? Just follow the below simple steps without any worries.

Be Cool and Calm : because if you are is rash mode then your cruel mind will not solve your problem. So don’t delete unknowingly your files untill you get the perfect solution which is given below.

Take your site to Maintenance MODE : First of all install Maintenance Mode Plugin so that your visitors does not go, so better to turn your visitors to your other site if you have. Once you have installed MAINTENANCE MODE PLUGIN now just go in to your FTP where your WordPress Blog installed. And rename index.php file to any other name like index1.php

Take Backups of your Blog : Now the main thing is take BACKUP your files and DATABASE and store it in your HARD DRIVE for safety reasons.

Re- INSTALL WORDPRESS MANUALLY : Wait before Re-INSTALLING manually please make sure that you know how to re-install it or if not learn HOW TO INSTALL WORDPRESS MANUALLY by clicking this link. After updating your WORDPRESS BLOG , update your DATABASE TOO that screen will come in end part once you finish updating WORDPRESS via FTP..

Its TIME to start your WORDPRESS by default THEME : Once you finish updating your WORDPRESS MANUALLY, its time to open your WORDPRESS BLOG and you will find the BLOG with default theme. So install your new theme but not the theme which as been taken backup earlier while infected your site. Once installed your theme install the plugin freshly.

Before installing THEMES AND PLUGINS FRESHLY please make sure that your install WP-CLEANER PLUGIN and execute it once , and then install your Theme and Plugins.[ Be sure that you are not installing vulnerable plugins ]

After installing new theme and plugins , please make sure your delete the index1.php file which you have renamed it earlier via FTP because problem may occur again, and once all is done it time to view your site , so do one thing disable that MAINTENANCE MODE PLUGIN and refresh your browser.

WordPress is the fastest trending product in the web market nowadays, because once upon a time everybody were used to stick with HTML site or Blogspot but now WordPress popularity, userfriendly option ruled everywhere , and wherever you go, WordPress blog also follows. But with WordPress there must be a backup option which should be known to every new user or fresh user those who dont know, backup is important because of any calamity occur like Web Server Crash, Virus problem etc. So for each blog which you own , you must keep a good practice to take frequent backup of your Wordpress Blog.

So now i will tell you how to take Wordpress Database Backup automatically ?

To take WordPress Backup of your Blog you need to install a Plugin named Backup to Drop Box and DropBox Account with Software installed in your Desktop.

Once done go to your WordPress Dashboard

Click on Settings-> Backup to Drop Box

Click on Authorize for the First time and Click on Continue

Now Select the Path, Timing and Click on Save Changes

Once you click on Save Changes Wordpress will take automatic backups and Drop it in your Drop Box.

So using DropBox its easy to take WordPress Backup automatically, but one thing i want to tell you i tried with my PC it worked fine, and use this procedure at your own risk, it works fine but some to due to PC problems or any software problem, error may occur,
