Life in Blogging from Blogspot to VPS

Once upon a time around 3 years back while was working as Computer Instructor for a Computer Hardware  and Networking  Field my friend suggested me to start Blogging in order to share knowledge using Blogspot with by force i started blogging and day past and he said you can earn while blogging by showing some Familiar blogs like Labnol, Amit Bhawani, NirmalTv, Shoemoney, Shoutmeloud, Shodan, TechPavan, Pro Blogger, Mashable , Honey Tech and Cant Forget Mohan from Bangalore.

And manyother Bloggers who i cant mentioned them now and all in above totally inspired from Kiran the Blogger from Mangalore but day passed and suddenly i migrated to Self Hosted Wordpress day by day consistently Visitors going on increased and by month end  some of my daily visitors may observe  in my blog  an bandwidth exceeded Problem and that day my plan was to Migrate to VPS within a year and thank to Idaksh and Kudlahost who Sponsored  my Blog to VPS and also thanks heartful greetings to all the Visitors who made technicalathma.com a grand success. And know finally i migrated my Blog to VPS

What do Google like from Bloggers

Google the number 1 search engine as we know contains lots of data in the server. If we need some content it will show the bunch of required content. So specially what i want to say through my Blog to other blogger is try some new article with killing ideas which does not exist in google , because Google is in thirst of fresh topics or contents.

Do you know how Google Works:

Not exact idea but i got some points from the net that Google runs on a distributed network of thousands of low-cost computers and can therefore carry out fast parallel processing with some help of data mining technique. Parallel processing is a method of computation in which many calculations can be performed simultaneously, significantly speeding up data processing.And hence we get the search criteria what we were searching for.

Google has a 3 Distinct part which make Google most familiar :

  • Google Bot : Finds and Fetches the Web page and Contents.
  • Indexing : It sorts out every word,sentence,web page so that to sort the huge amount of data which the user is need of
  • Query : It is a type of processor which compares your search data with the indexed data in the server and recommends to be the most suitable data for users.

So when you enter an article in your blog google finds it and index it for future use and it take more preference on new or fresh content with unique keywords. So blog some thing new.

Whats Up Blogger or WordPress ?

Nowadays Blogging is very fascinating subject. Most of the people blog every day, some people wana start a blog but still stucking with blogging interface whether to Start Blogging with Wordpress or Blogger. But in my side i wana say that i started blogging 2 years back with the help of Blogger it is very easy to use , somewhat user friendly and less programming basic required and we can say it is the best platform to start a Blog but day crossed one day i changed my mind and just migrated to Wordpress , starting one month it was difficult for me to maintain my blog with Wordpress  because i was missing Blogger but later on i realized Wordpress is much professional that blogger due to lots of  themes and plugins in it.

For Starters you can compare Blogger and Wordpress below  :

Blogger :

  • In blogger you can customize the themes,layouts,colors also you can include third party theme and tracking scripts.
  • You can store upto 1GB of images and you can go for higher using images hosting like Picasa.
  • And no Static pages available.In case of private blogs you can restrict google readers and cannot edit the comments.
  • Widgets speaks loudly here and its fun to be a blogger because it is easy to use and good for starters. But later on you feel to migrate on Wordpress as i did

Wordpress :

  • It is more professional than Blogger .
  • Here no template editing but style sheet editing is only available as a paid users those who purchase themes . Around 70% themes let you upload a header image. Some have additional customization options too.
  • But still dont worry try for free themes which is available in internet grab them out.
  • Here legally no script allowed but with help of plugins you can add the script here in Wordpress plugins speaks louder.
  • And you can migrate from Blogger,Live Journal,Yahoo 360 or any other Blog ti Wordpress but not Wordpress to Other. Minimum of 3 Gigabytes uploads are available .
  • But if you need more you must pay for it.Here you can also upload.ppt, .doc,.pdf files etc.
  • The  worst thing i dont like in Wordpress is Updates and Upgrades but still we cant ignore it because it is for our betterments and Spamming  but thanks to Akismet plugin which will take care of all the Spam.

Finally in both Blogger is friendly with lots of Fun because it is very easy to use and user friendly and any people with Basic knowledge on Web can handle it . But Wordpress is much Professional than Blogger and one thing you can ignore is the Traffic in Wordpress is more than Blogger.

So for Starters try to start you blog with Blogspot and later on see for Wordpress but starting with wordpress is also cool no problem just go for it

What is the difference between Blog and a Website

The Difference between blog and a website does not cost too different but it has some difference that which we cannot ignore it. First of all A Blog is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual person or a group , whereas a Website  is a collection of related web pages, images, videos or other digital assets that are addressed with a common domain name which is hosted on a one web server .

Here is a small difference which i find  as i think so:

Website: gives you a gateway of details on the internet and allows people to surf,shop, and contact you, learn all about you and your product of your certain company.It’s a one sided conversation. Everything is done by Webmaster/Owner of the site doing all the talkings and inserting the details. There’s nothing for your visitor to do to participate or interact with you while at your site. You have to do it personally for ex: A company has a website with the details on thier products, So that Customers can talk to the owner for further info: like www.idaksh.in and one thing Website is Static, its very irritating thing to change the theme or any code of it.

Blog : is a collection of personal information of individual people or a group of people and it can host the same information that your website does however, it’s a two sided conversation in that your customers can leave comments, participate in polls,forums and also we can interact with each other.And you can change it daily and its some what user-friendly why because to make a website you should have a deep knowledge in web programming language but in blog it simple just install/setup a blog, grab some themes alter it and publish it. But nowadays every were people use blog due to its popularity with  help of Social Networking to promote thier personal details or any company details or normal information and you can point the domain name to a blog easily so people can’t find out is it a blog or a website  , and while comparing with Blog and Website, Blog is very cheap while comparing to a website . How to add Adsense in between Blogspot posting area

Hi Friends nowadays adding Adsense in blogspot posting area is easily done.In blogger, normally we can show adds in only three areas.

  • Above the post heading
  • End of the post
  • In sidebar

But nowadays in the most of the adsense compatible blog you will see ads below the posting area sometimes you see ads wrapped in posting area sometimes you see adds in middle of the post  or side anyhow, you can add as you wish.

  • Log in to your Blogspot Account
  • Go to Settings->Layout->Edit Html

  • Then Click on “Expand Widget” option
  • Before altering an Template keep a backup for safer side
  • Copy the XML codes to notepad or notepad++
  • Find <p><data:post.body/></p> or <data:post.body/>
  • Copy the code just above the given code

  • Then next thing is to add the adsense code but before that you have to Parse it

  • Now Copy the XML code from notepad to blogspot and Update it
